Posterior Approach in Transverse Sacral Fracture: A Case Report
نویسندگان
چکیده
Traumatic sacral fracture is rare complication in trauma patients but it is a major cause of death and disability in these patients. Their management is still under debate. Different modalities include conservative management, initial conservative treatment followed by surgical treatment after failure of conservative treatment, and primary surgical treatment. We are presenting a case with transverse sacral fracture treated with posterior approach in the early period of trauma. We suggest that early surgical decompression and stabilization should be performed in such cases.

Usefulness of Sacral Sublaminar Wire for Low Transverse Sacral Fractures: Two Cases' Report
Low transverse sacral fractures are rare, with only two published reports regarding their surgery. The complication associated with surgery for sacral fractures is the prominence of implants. In addition, screw fixation below S3 is impractical. We performed posterior sacral fixation using S2 alar iliac (S2AI) screws and sacral sublaminar wires for low transverse sacral fractures. Case 1 was 65-...

متن کاملIsolated Transverse Sacrum Fracture: A Case Report
Sacral fracture commonly results from high-energy trauma. Most insufficiency fractures of the sacrum are seen in women after the age of 70. Fractures of the sacrum are rare and generally combined with a concomitant pelvic fracture. Transverse sacral fractures are even less frequent which constitute only 3-5% of all sacral fractures. This type of fractures provide a diagnostic challenge. We repo...

According to AO/ASIF classi!cation system the pelvic ring fractures are graded into three types, A, B, and C, in order of increasing severity (4). Type A injuries are stable including avulsion fractures, fractures of the iliac wing and transverse fractures of the sacrum. Type B injuries are rotationally unstable but vertically and posteriorly stable. "ey may be caused by external rotatory force...
متن کاملPosterior Hip Fracture -Dislocation Associated with Ipsilateral Intertrochantric Fracture; a Rare Case Report
Hip dislocation occurs when the femur does not break and the force is transmitted towards the hip joint leading to a posterior dislocation of the femoral head with or without posterior acetabular fracture. We present the case of a 26 year old patient involved in motor vehicle accident. Clinical and imaging (radiography, CT) examination revealed an intertrochanteric fracture associated with ipsi...
